Joint Conference of the NZ Statistical Association and Operations Research Society of NZ

Welcome

The New Zealand Statistical Association (NZSA) and the Operations Research Society of New Zealand (ORSNZ) are holding a joint conference hosted by University of Canterbury at their Dovedale campus (College of Education on the campus map). This conference incorporates both the 66th Annual NZSA Conference and the 49th annual ORSNZ Conference. The conference will cover all practical and theoretical aspects of statistics and operations research (OR). Papers at the intersection of these areas, including those in analytics, are particularly welcome.

Note: If you are a student and you attend the workshop and do a presentation or provide a poster at this conference your fee for one workshop will be refunded. However you must register prior to the workshop to attend

Financial Assistance for NZSA Student Presenters

To be eligible for these awards, applicants must:

  • Be qualified to register as a student. This requires that the delegate is a full-time student at the time of registration. Students must provide proof of their enrolment (a signed letter from a supervisor or lecturer will suffice) when registering or to the registration desk at the conference.
  • Submit their talk abstract with their application.
  • Provide a single page academic CV.
  • Provide a one-paragraph summary on why they are requesting funding and how attending the conference will be beneficial to their career.
Due to limited funds, if you wish to apply for a student travel award, notify Martin Hazelton as soon as possible.
Documentation as listed above must be provided before 31 October 2015.

NZSA Best Student Presentation

The NZSA encourages presentations from students at its annual conferences, and as an enticement, prizes are awarded for the best student presentations. All student delegates that present are automatically entered into the competition. Harmonic Analytics are sponsoring prizes for the best student talks again at the 2015 conference.
